Statement of Faith

These are the truths that we uphold and actively teach

We believe the Bible

We believe the thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and the twenty-seven books of the New Testament to be the divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, supreme, and final authoritative Word of God for faith and life. (Ps. 19:7-11; Luke 24:27; John 17:17; Acts 17:2-3; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; 3:15-16)

We believe in God

who is three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, yet one Being.

God, The Father

Perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power, we rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (1 John 1:5; Psalms 139; Hebrews 7:25).

Jesus Christ

God’s only begotten Son, His virgin born, His divine nature, His sinless life, making atonement for the sins of the world by His death, we believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into Heaven, His intercession for His people, His visible return to the world according to His Promise (John 3:16; I Peter 2:24; John 14:3).

The Holy Spirit

The Spirit came forth from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and to regenerate, seal, sanctify, empowers and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. We also believe that each believer in Jesus Christ is at conversion indwelt by the Holy Spirit and baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ giving gifts to equip the saints for service (John 16; 1 Corinthians 12:13).

We believe that man was originally created in the image of God.

That by nature and by choice we are sinners, incurring physical and spiritual death. But that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life; we believe therefore that those who accepted Christ as Lord and Savior are born again and eternally secure in Him and will rejoice forever in God’s presence. Those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God in Hell (John 10:28; John 3:16, 26).

We believe that every human being has the opportunity for direct relations with God, and is responsible to God in matters of faith (Romans 10:13, 14:12).

We believe Jesus Christ established the church

He is the Head of the Church. It is composed of all who have been born again by the Holy Spirit and have placed saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Each local church is independent of any ecclesiastical or political authority (Matt. 16:18; Eph. 5:23; Col. 1:18; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 10:13, 14:12).

Communion:

The Church celebrates Communion with the use of bread and the cup (fruit of the vine) symbolizing the body  and blood of Christ, in accordance with the accounts given in the Scriptures. We believe that the Lord’s Supper should be part of the Church life, thus we observe it frequently and regularly (Matt. 26:20-30; Mark 14:17-27; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor. 11:1-34).

Baptism:

Baptism is administered by immersion to born again believers. It is an act of obedience to Jesus Christ, a symbol of identification with Christ and the Holy Spirit’s inward work of regeneration. Baptism does not impart salvation, but follows salvation. As a public testimony, baptism is an outward sign of an inward faith, and a declaration to diligently follow Christ (Matt. 28:18-19; Romans 6:4; Matt. 10:32-33; Acts 8:12; Ephesians 2:8-9).
